Short Bio

Chicken-Like Birds will treat you to a tasty marriage of roots, blues, swing and ragtime that the Canadian Pacific Blues Society has called a “fantastic old- school acoustic experience.”

Longer Bio

Chicken-Like Birds are the combination of Ari Lantela who is known for his refined-yet-sloppy blues guitar picking and Jasmin Frederickson holding it down on double bass.  Along with a suitcase drum, upright bass and interesting harmonies, listeners will be treated to a tasty marriage of roots, blues, swing and ragtime that the Canadian Pacific Blues Society has called a “fantastic old- school acoustic experience.”  Together they sing their original songs about adventure, independent women, cooking and the pair's strange relationship.  Slap in some theatrics, a few funny stories and some strangely endearing awkwardness and that'll be the Birds.
